Check back Watch for Jackie's
appearance on Virginia Currents, TBA. Jackie recently visited Slipped
Disc to record a new song written by H. Fairfax Conquest, who also penned O' Virginia Track 7 on Jackie's
CD Cold Lonely Blues. The song titled Take Me Home, Yeocomico pays tribute to Dr. Conquest's
beloved vacation home on Virginia's Yeocomico River. Metaphorically, however, it laments the inevitable end of life and breaking
of earth's bonds. Jackie treats it beautifully. The two song CD is available in Richmond from Plan 9 and theYellow Umbrella
seafood store. It's also on sale at the Callao Supermarket in Callao, VA. .

The Butterbean Jazzz Quartet- - Terri
Simpson, TBJQ vocalist, received the 2008 Theresa Pollack Award for excellence in the arts. The selectors said: Compassion, love, truth.
That’s what I hear in Terri Murphy Simpson’s voice. She’s been an important figure in Richmond’s
musical lineage for more than 10 years, unassuming and always contributing. Her sound, that sound, has done more
for this city than we may ever know. It’s carried her from local medical centers to European stages,
and if there’s anyone in our musical community who deserves a little acknowledgment, it’s her. Just
listen. Catch Terri with the Butterbean Jazz Quartet at Bottoms Up Pizza each Sunday evening at 7:30 to 10:30 PM.
